Day 1: Departure - Arrival Chicago, IL

Welcome to Chicago!

Upon the arrival of all tour participants, we convene for a warm welcome reception, complete with refreshing beverages. This serves as the perfect opportunity for introductions, allowing both tour participants and leaders to become acquainted. The evening’s agenda is dedicated to fostering connections and building camaraderie as we embark on this journey together. For those who still have energy to spare after the day’s travels, an option to unwind at a nearby local bar awaits, providing an informal setting for further socializing and shared experiences.

Day 2: Chicago - Eau Claire, Wi

(Driving day 1: 489 km/304 miles)

As the collective rumble of engines signals that all riders are prepared, we set forth on our epic 3,900 km (2,440 miles) adventure. Chicago gradually fades from view as we weave our way into the picturesque landscapes of Wisconsin. Our destination for the first evening is Eau Claire, where we come together to share the camaraderie of our inaugural day on the road.

Day 3: Eau Claire - Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada

Today marks the day you’ll cross the border into the enchanting landscapes of Canada. Our journey leads us northward, guiding us through the breathtaking scenery of Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. A brief pit stop in Duluth offers the perfect opportunity to appreciate the pristine beauty of Lake Superior for the first time.

Savor the initial stretch of our picturesque ride along Hwy 61, tracing the captivating shoreline of Lake Superior. As we continue our expedition, we’ll seamlessly cross the Canadian border, venturing into the scenic route that leads us to Thunder Bay. This city is renowned for its legendary long ski jump slopes, adding an extra layer of excitement to our unfolding adventure.

Day 4: Thunder Bay - Wawa, Ontario, Canada

Our enchanting journey persists along the captivating stretch of Hwy 17, hugging the shores of the majestic Lake Superior. As we navigate this scenic route, we pass by the scenic wonders of Pukaskwa National Park, adding a touch of natural splendor to our adventure. Our next destination is Wawa, nestled in proximity to both the lake and Lake Superior Park, promising further exploration of the breathtaking landscapes that characterize this region.

Day 5: Wawa - Sudbury, Ontario, Canada

Our journey unfolds as we trace the breathtaking eastern shores of Lake Superior, delving deep into the pristine landscapes of Lake Superior Provincial Park. The route promises a picturesque ride through remote areas, embraced by the serenity of lakes and forests.

As the day culminates, our path leads us to Greater Sudbury, the largest city in Northern Ontario. Day 7: Ottawa - Victor, NY

Today marks our departure from the Canadian landscapes as we venture southward, returning to the familiar grounds of the United States. Our route leads us towards Alexandria Bay, initiating a picturesque ride along the stunning shores of Lake Ontario. The journey unfolds seamlessly, guiding us to Victor, our evening haven where we’ll unwind and embrace the charm of this locale.

Day 8: Victor - Niagara Falls - Hamburg, NY

Today promises to be a day destined for the history books as we embark on a thrilling journey to the legendary Niagara Falls. Our destination is the illustrious Niagara Falls National Park, renowned for its awe-inspiring views and captivating scenery. Take the time to immerse yourself in this natural wonder, ensuring your cameras are poised and ready to capture every breathtaking impression. Get ready for a day filled with unforgettable moments at one of the world’s most iconic landmarks!

Day 9: Hamburg - Freemont, OH

Today’s expedition unfolds along the scenic shores of yet another of the Great Lakes: Lake Erie. Our entire day will be dedicated to traversing over 400 km / 250 miles of the breathtaking landscapes that hug this beautiful lake. A pause in Cleveland offers a moment to appreciate the surroundings before we continue our journey, eventually reaching our final destination in Fremont. Get ready for a day immersed in the unparalleled beauty and charm of Lake Erie.

Day 10: Freemont - Chicago, IL

(Driving day 8: 425 km/264 miles)

As with all great adventures, ours, too, comes to a close today. It marks the final riding day as we make our way back to Chicago.

Our route leads us toward the picturesque shores of Lake Michigan, where we bid farewell to our bikes and transition back to our regular gear. This evening is dedicated to celebrating the memories forged during our Great Lakes ride. Join us for a heartfelt farewell dinner, commemorating the end of an extraordinary journey and the camaraderie shared along the way.

Day 11: Departure Chicago - Home Travel

As we bid farewell to the enchanting adventures of the Great Lakes and Canada, it’s time to head back home. The group will travel together by shuttle to the airport. We express our gratitude for the fantastic ride, the memorable moments, and sincerely appreciate your choice to tour with JoyRides.
